Russell Madness

No, not the movie about the cute wrestling dog. I’m talking about the media madness over the last week. We went from Russell Wilson being named the Walter Payton Man of the Year, to him possibly wanting out of Seattle. I don’t think this the case. He made a public comment about being frustrated with being hit too often. Some would argue that is partially his fault, due to holding the ball too long. The offensive line did make improvements this year, but still has a lot of room for improvement. They also have two starters that are free agents this off season. The offensive scheme didn’t help much either. It seemed like every play was designed to go downfield and took too long to develop. Hopefully with the addition of Shane Waldron as offensive coordinator, there will be more plays implemented to the playbook that allows Russell to get rid of the ball quicker to avoid getting sacked and will open up the defense for the occasional deep ball. Stay tuned for further rumors and news. It looks to be an interesting off season.
